Care
The Hunny Blanket is made from 250 GSM double-brushed microfleece — plush, dense, and made to last. Treat it gently and it stays that way, wash after wash.
How to wash it
- Wash alone, cold water, gentle cycle
- Skip the fabric softener — it flattens the nap
- Tumble dry alone on low heat, or lay flat to dry
- Never high heat — it's the one thing the fabric won't forgive
- Keep it away from anything rough in the wash or dryer — towels, denim, zippers, velcro
Why heat matters
Double-brushed microfleece is plush because the fibers are raised on both sides — that's what gives the blanket its signature feel. It's also what makes the fabric sensitive to heat.
On high heat, three things happen. The raised fibers melt slightly and fuse together. The nap flattens permanently. And the edges pill as they rub against other items in the drum.
None of it is reversible. One hot cycle can do more damage than fifty cold washes.
Heat is the enemy. Friction is the accomplice. Cold water and a gentle dryer keep your blanket looking new.
If something goes wrong
Washed it on warm? Probably fine if the dryer stayed low. Heat damage mostly happens in the dryer.
Tumble dried it on high? Check the edges for pilling and the surface for matting. If it still feels right, keep going cold-and-low from here.
Used fabric softener? Rinse through a cold gentle cycle without detergent. Skip the softener going forward — it coats the fibers and dulls the feel.
Shedding after the first wash? Normal. Microfleece releases loose fibers in the first one or two cycles. It calms down quickly.
